Here is a recent monogram cake I piped out of buttercream. The cake was made to look simple, natural and rustic, especially with the side design.
Caking
Caking: my favorite thing to do.
Fall Buttercream Chrysanthemums
The flavors and colors of autumn really have the power to bring warmth to one's heart. With that in mind, I piped these buttercream chrysanthmums in shades of yellow, orange and red to celebrate the season.
Fall doodle cake
I'm celebrating all the things I love about fall with this Starbucks cup inspired cake!
Pink and White Ranunculus Cake
This weekend we had a cake headed up to a rustic barn nestled in the quaint Hudson Valley town of Rhinebeck. The sugar flowers arranged on the cake matched the centerpieces and it was topped off with two very cute hand painted wooden toppers by lil' cake toppers to resemble the bride and groom.
Gumpaste Ranunculus
Spending the day making gumpaste ranunculus while listening to some good music.
Gold Button Centered Flowers
Our cake is featured on Cake Geek today in an article that highlights cakes that have flowers with gold centers. I made these flowers for a wedding cake a few years back in which I took real buttons to make custom molds and then used those molds to make gumpaste versions. Then I painted it with gold highlighter dust. The process was quite simple and the outcome gives the flowers a stunning effect. Mother's Day Floral Buttercream Cupcake Class
This weekend we held a Mother's Day floral cupcake class that was a complete blast! These ladies were so talented and each one was so unique in their color choices and piping styles. Everyone worked so hard and the results were just beautiful. Thanks again to all those who came out and I hope you enjoyed eating the beautiful fruits of your labor!
